Its one of the very important temples in Kerala State. This temple is situated in the southern area of Kochi city. This is a temple of Goddess Durga. One of the very powerful temples. Its believed that the goddess resides here along with her brother Lord Maha Vishnu. This temple has an very beautiful architecture its made by the ancient great architect Vishwakarma. Its one of the very famous temple in Kerala and its very crowded by the pilgrims. The Goddess is worshiped in three different ways Mahasaraswathi in morning, Mahalakshmi at noon and Mahakali in the evening. And there is also keezhkavil Bagavati  known as bhadrakali in the fierce form. Bhadrakali is a form of Kali Devi and it is born from the third eye of Lord Shiva to kill the demon Darika.

And the people suffering from mental illness commonly visits this temple as it is said that Chottanikkara Devi cures her devotees. Guruthi Pooja is the main ritual in this temple.
