Thekkady is an important tourist attraction in Kerala. The name was derived from the word ‘theku’ a malayalam word means teak tree. This place has a very pleasant climate. It also has cool climate. It is one of the best hill stations in Kerala and it is in Idukki district. Very peaceful destination. There are also many other activities like rafting in thekkady,boating etc. And you can see various fauna here like elephants,sambar 🦌, 🐅tigers and moneys. It is a dense forest. Its 4-5 km away from kumily. Thekkady is also special for its spices like cardamom,cinnamon,black pepper,clove,ginger etc.
