Panchalimedu is a hill station in Idukki district.There is a beutiful view point.And it is near to Kuttikanam.Many Ayyappa devotees comes here on Makara Sankranti to see the makaravilaku from ponambalamedu near sabarimala.This place can be accessed from the Kottayam-Kumuly rd (kk road).

You can easily hire a jeep and auto from murinjapuzha (5km away) and amalagiri(6km away).

There are 2 hills in panchalimedu and one has the temple of Bhuvaneswari Devi.Panchalimedu is 2,500ft above from the sea level it is accompanied and surrounded by many valleys,hills,medows&grasslands.Many tourists arrive here for treking during summer season.On monsoon season the hills will be covered by mist and fog.

According to the myths The PANDAVS with there wife PANCHALI held here for one year during there journey.
