Bhoothathankettu is a very big dam and a tourism spot in Ernakuam district,Kerala,India.

This dam is actually situated in edamalayar forest division.It is about 10km away from town named kothamangalam.It also have distance of 50km from the main city Ernakulam.There is a old natural dam and is supported by a modern dam.We can explore through the forest it is like a small treking through the beutiful jungle.Long ago large round rocks where put to block the periyar river and it locks like a natural dam.It is said that the dam was built by superhumans.Some people also says that it was built by bhootam.You can visit a childrens park and an small boating and a pedel boating.
